Bunny Behavior #5 – Marking Territory
You will see your rabbit do this many times. Whenever something new enters your bunnies territory, they will often go up to it, sniff it and then rub it with their chin, this is called scent or territory marking. The scent they leave tells other rabbits that this item/place is already claimed. They may even scent mark you! This is a show of affection, something along the lines of “you are my bestist favoritist human, no one else can have you.” And don’t worry, humans can’t smell the scent that rabbits use to mark.
